It's Ayoba Time!

I am starting this blog to document my recent trip to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, as well as to stimulate discussion about soccer, the Cup, South Africa, America, and whatever else.

"Ayoba" is South African slang to express delight, excitement, agreement, and approval. MTN, a wireless phone provider, is using the phrase "It's Ayoba Time!" on its print and television advertising. You can make it out here on the stage from outside the Mexico-France game on June 17 in Polokwane. I think it's the perfect word to describe what was a great trip. Ayoba!
